Michelle Visage took time out from filming RuPaul’s Drag Race Downunder to appear at the largest LGBT+ event in New Zealand on Sunday at Auckland’s Big Gay Out.

More than 20,000 fans erupted as Visage appeared on stage alongside dancers in her exercise gear to end a month-long odyssey by event organiser NZ AIDS Foundation, to convince Visage to appear.

The not for profit organisation place newspaper advertisements and placed posters and stickers around the city asking for Visage to find time out of her schedule to appear.

It was originally thought her tight filming schedule would mean she couldn’t make the deadline of 6pm on a Sunday afternoon, but soon after that time Visage appeared.

Fans posted videos of Visage on stage claiming it was the best day ever.

“Hello Big Gay Out, its Michelle Visage, I came to say hi,” Visage exclaimed and the noise was deafening.

“I couldn’t be in Auckland, I came in my sweatpants because I couldn’t not come, to tell you how much I love you, how amazing you are.

“How we are all in this beautiful rainbow together.

“Thank you so much for welcoming me and all of our drag race crew down under.

“We’re so excited for what we have ahead for you, so thank you for welcoming us. And I love you.”
