Australia’s Troye Sivan has announced he will donate $1 from every ticket sold at his upcoming Australia and New Zealand Bloom tour dates to LGBTIQ youth and mental health charities.

On the day when tickets went on sale for his six-venue tour, Sivan took to Instagram stories to announce that a portion of each ticket sold will be donated in support of Beyond Blue and Minus18 in Australia and RainbowYOUTH in New Zealand.

“We’re working with Rainbow Youth in New Zealand, a dollar of every ticket from the show there goes to rainbow youth and then in Australia we are working with Minus18 and Beyond Blue and a dollar of every ticket goes to be shared between them,” Sivan explained on his Instagram story.

“I can’t believe that I get to literally, wiggle my little bum, on stage, and give to charity all at the same time.

“And if you come and wiggle your bum at the show, you’re giving to charity by doing that.

“Who’s the true gay icon, it’s you.”

Sivan set out on The Bloom Tour in September 2018, impressing full houses through extensive North American, European and Asian dates, as well as Lollapalooza performances in Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

Sivan’s homecoming tour – The Bloom Tour – is heading to capital cities around Australia and New Zealand in September. This marks Troye Sivan’s first national tour since 2016.

The tour also follows his appearance on the Vogue 73 Questions last week where he let loose his celebrity crush and how much he wanted to meet Margot Robbie.

In a statement from his tour publicity, he once again reiterated he was excited to be working with the charities.

“It was organisations like these who were there for me when I needed them most, and I’m honoured to be able to help support them now by wiggling around on stage,” stated Sivan.

Georgie Harman, Beyond Blue CEO, said they were thrilled that an artist of Sivan’s profile and calibre is sharing the Beyond Blue message of hope, recovery and resilience, and helping fund our 24/7 Support Service.

“We’re proud to support the mental health of everyone in Australia. And we celebrate the strength, resilience and diversity of LGBTI communities who sadly continue to face prejudice and discrimination that affects their mental health. Thank you, Troye,” said Ms Harman

Tony Lee, Acting CEO for Minus18 said, “We’re honoured to have the support and recognition from such an inspirational role model – we love you Troye! These proceeds will help to fund free events and inclusive workshops to enable young LGBTQIA+ Australians to feel empowered, validated and safe in their identities.
