Shira Banki, a 16 year old girl, was one of six people stabbed last week during the Jerusalem Pride parade.

Banki died from her injuries sustained whilst she was marching during the Jerusalem Pride parade.

The 16 year old girl reportedly past away on Sunday at Hadar Elboim of Hadassah hospital.

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, released a statement assuring Banki’s family that her killer would be brought to justice.

“Shira was murdered because she bravely supported the principle that each one can live their life in honor and security,” he said.

“We will not allow this despicable killer to undermine the core values that Israeli society is based upon.”

“We contemptuously denounce his actions of hate and violence. We will do everything in our power to bring this killer to face justice,” he concluded.

Yishai Shlissel was the man who attacked marchers with a knife during Jerusalem’s annual pride parade. he was dressed in ultra-orthodox garb as he charged into the crowd, stabbing six before being restrained by policemen.

He is currently in custody and awaiting trial.

Police have been criticized for not monitoring Shlissel closer, who had only been released for three weeks after having been imprisoned for stabbing three people at a pride parade in 2005.
