My Kitchen Rules star and Marriage Equality advocate Jordan Bruno is recovering from a frightening ordeal after being attacked and chased on a road in Perth overnight.
In a facebook post, Jordan explained how he was cut off by a car on Ocean Reef Road, a major thoroughfare, in the Northern suburbs of Perth.
Jordan explained how four men allegedly came from the other vehicle and started to attack his car with bottles and bats.
“They smashed in my passenger window, my door and started to punch my face several times (causing the back of my chair to break from force), explained Jordan.
“They called me a faggot (not that they knew I was gay, I think) and a c**t, and one even tried to put my car into park to prevent me from driving off.”
In an effort to avoid his assailants, Jordan placed the car into reverse, did a u-turn across the centre of the road and tried to speed away while calling police for assistance.
Then a 25 minute chase followed with Jordan having to avoid hitting the other car six times before the police arrived.
“This was the scariest moment of my life and all I could think about was the life that I would no longer get to live out and the things I wanted to achieve.
“All I remember saying to the police officer on repeat was how “I have way too much to offer this world to leave now”.”
Jordan’s post clearly states he is fine but that his car isn’t doing too well.
“At the end of it all, I cried myself to sleep while feeling weak. Today I’m feeling stronger than ever and more motivated to push for what I believe in, sometimes you need a little reminder that life is not promised or guaranteed.
“Do what you love and fight for what you believe in! There is no way I’m leaving this Earth without marriage equality being legal in Australia, and seeing my Mum cry at my wedding day.”
Jordan has filed a police report as well as giving them the registration details of the car.
Western Australian Police have been contacted for comment but have yet to provide anything to eikon for this story.
