Mr. Gay World throws up some amazingly different individuals from all walks of life, different cultures and accents but for all of those we have spoken with this year, they all have one thing in common, to improve the lives of LGBTI people across the globe.

This is no different with our final Mr. Gay World profile piece on the Czech Republic’s František Pešek who says its always been a dream of his to be in such a competition and to have his voice heard for the community.

“First of all, this is a great challenge and challenges I like. They move me further,” explained Pešek to Eikon.

Speaking through translations before the Mr. Gay World competition got underway in Madrid, Pešek explained how he grew up in a small town in Northern Bohemia how today is new town is right behind him.

“I come from northern Bohemia from the town of Lovosice where I lived for 22 years. Then I moved to a friend in Chomutov on the border with Germany where I live to the present day.

“The city of Chomutov fully supports me in participating in both world competitions.”

In 2011 he entered the Gayman Czech Republic as a last minute substitute and even though he enjoyed the experience it wasn’t until 2016 where he got his big chance to make the step onto the world stage.

“In 2016 I decided to compete again and this time from Beginning. This time, I got the maximum in the competition and we got the title Gayman of Czechoslovakia 2016 and Gayman Internet 2016.

“Thanks to the title Gayman of Czechoslovakia I will be a delegate for the Czech Republic at Mr. Gay World 2017 in Spain and Mr. Gay Europe 2017 in Sweden.”

Pešek believes his greatest strength is his natural personality and charm and he is looking forward to meeting the other delegates from around the world.

“I am cheerful, natural and I love children. That is why I also provide support to the Endowment Fund, Veronika Kašáková, who is involved in childcare in children’s homes.

“I have not much opportunity to communicate with others[delegates], but I look forward to seeing them in Madrid.

“My biggest favorite is South African delegate Alexander Steyn, who is just a man for me, the ideal of a man.

“But I have other tips, Swiss Marco Tornes and Australian David Francis.

“Of course, I like more men, but these are my tips on the winning trio.”

František Pešek is one of 21 delegates heading to the Mr. Gay World finals to be held in Spain this week from 5-10 May.
