He may be one of the tallest delegates at this year’s Mr. Gay World 2017, but the finalist from Poland is not looking down at anyone else when it comes to competing this week in Madrid.
Andrzej Berg took part in the Mr. Gay Europe competition and is looking forward to meeting everyone from around the world in a similar environment.
“I am looking forward to meeting interesting people and capturing new experiences”, Berg explained to eikon.
“I am sure this will be an unforgettable adventure.”
The 6ft 1 contestant has lived in Poland all of his life after starting life in a small city in the NorthWest are of Poland called Olsztyn.
To win through to Mr. Gay World finals, Berg had to go through many hoops.
“First, the preselections took place in four local polish gay clubs named HAH (abbreviation from “Hell And Haven”), which were based in Sopot, Katowice, Wroclaw and Poznan.
“I won in Sopot, a small city, which is close to Gdansk where I live. This enabled me to take part in the Mr. Gay Poland contest, which I finally won.
“I took part in the Mr. Gay Poland competition because I wanted to break the stereotypes about the LGBT community in Poland and to show that I am proud of being gay.”
Berg knows that the competition, that gets underway this Friday in Spain, will be fierce.
“I haven’t spoken to any of my fellow contestants yet. I have only seen their photos and video clips on the internet and they all seem to be very handsome and sexy.
“There are a lot of brilliant men taking part in the MGW 2017 contest. Of course, I would like to win but I can see that the competition is high.”
Andrzej Berg is one of 20 delegates heading to the Mr. Gay World finals to be held in Spain this week from 5-10 May.
