A Melbourne couple that has developed an exclusive skincare range just for men has announced their products will now be available in the United Kingdom and stocked exclusively in Harrods.

Life partners Anthony McDonough and Chris Glebatsas established the uniquely Australian brand Lqd in 2012 to target men who care about their appearance, with products that address common skin care concerns, such as dryness, redness, breakouts, and ageing.

On top of their agreement with Harrods, Lqd has also entered into an exciting partnership with the British Fashion Council and will sponsor Londons Fashion Week Men’s, as the Official Skincare Sponsor.

In speaking about their products McDonough explained he originally trained as an organic chemist and applies a no-nonsense practicality to Lqd’s innovative product line-up.

“If you’re anything like me, you’re active.” he said.

“I train continuously and have done for more than 30 years. When you train hard you shower often, so you need products to remove the sweat and grime of life that aren’t too harsh, with the ability to replenish the balance of oils in your skin.

“I searched the world to find products that lived up to this and after 20 years of not finding what I needed, I created Lqd to fill that void.”

Glebatsas is a former investment banker whose near- deadly brush with meningococcal meningitis in 2008 resulted in a passionate pursuit of work/life balance.

Lqd is a reflection of this goal; a brand that tells it like it is and educates men about skincare, with integrity and authenticity.

“Great skin is as much about what you put into your body as what you put on your skin,” said McDonough.

“The key to looking the best you can is eating a healthy diet, drinking lots of water, training hard: high intensity and resistance training will keep your testosterone levels higher, and using good quality skin care.”
