27-year-old actor Reid Ewing, who is most commonly known for his role as Haley’s boyfriend Dylan on the hit American TV show, Modern Family, has opened up about his sexuality, coming out via twitter.
Reid Ewing had recently opened up about the issue of low self-esteem and body image, as he revealed to the media how he became addicted to cosmetic surgery after undergoing his first procedure aged just 19.
While tweeting in response to reactions of news on his battles with body dysmorphia and his addiction to cosmetic surgery, Reid Ewing decided to also open up about his sexuality.
After describing another man who was also profiled for Good Morning America‘s body dysmorphia segment as “hot af,” another Twitter user replied asking if he was outing himself.
To which Reid Ewing simply replied “I was never in.”
Saw Eugene Bata on @GMA in the Body Dysmorphia segment connected to my article and I just want to say he is hot af.

Speaking to the BBC about his addiction to cosmetic surgery Reid Ewing said, “I genuinely believed if I had one procedure I would suddenly look like Brad Pitt,”
“I went under quite a few times because if you have this disorder, you’re always going to hate the way you look.”
Reid Ewing added, “The whole time I was thinking in my head, I should not be doing this. Yet I kept on doing it and that’s why I use the word addiction.”
The Modern family star has also called on cosmetic practices to offer mental health consultations to those who are seeking to undergo future cosmetic surgery.
“These doctors do not care,” he explained.
“For them it’s just one day. For the person that they are doing it to, it’s mental anguish that goes on and on and on. It was over a four-year span for me: four years of not being able to find my way out of this mental ditch.”
“None of the doctors suggested I consult a psychologist for what was clearly a psychological issue rather than a cosmetic one or warn me about the potential for addiction.”
Reid Ewing said that he wishes he could go back and undo all the surgeries, explaining “now I can see that I was fine to begin with and didn’t need the surgeries after all.”
