Brazil’s representative for the Mr Gay World competition intends on encouraging the Brazilian people to support civil rights for the LGBT community.
Born in Salvador, the 30-year-old student Rafael Fagundes currently lives in Sao Paulo.
He is the father of a boy of nine, he adopted when he was two and lived in the small vulnerable in Boca do Rio neighborhood, where he lived in Bahia.
Fagundes wants to head to Malta, on June 19 to join the rest of the 21 other candidates but he is now looking for donations to get him to Malta.
Due to the high costs of travel, Fagundes is using Kickstarter to help raise funds to send him to represent Brazil.
In his spare time, the Brazilian likes to practice CrossFit, running and Muay Thai.
The criminalization of homophobia is one of the issues he defends and hopes to represent the community to engage in the fight against prejudice.
“I want to move forward and encourage the community that I represent.”
“To say that they can indeed form a family and have their guaranteed civil rights, “argues the Brazilian.
