Mr Gay World Delegates

As the 2015 Mr Gay World competition kicks off on Monday in Cape Town, we thought it was timely to run through all of the delegates for this year and give you a brief roundup of who they are, what they do and whether they are the most suitable to be crowned Mr Gay World 2015. Part 1 including the first 11 delegates is here.

Why Mr Gay World?: Arziom is half Russian and half Italian and is running for the Mr World title to shout out to the world that he is gay despite all of the issues against gays in the two countries.

Thoughts: Probably one of the delegates with the biggest influence on social media and views on his video. Being from two large countries helps but his passion certainly shines through and would be a worthy winner.

Why Mr Gay World?: Was bullied as a child and wants to use the Mr Gay World title to work on anti-bullying programs throughout his country and the rest of the world.

Thoughts: One of the few that has actually grown up and still lives in his representative country. Good looking guy with a genuine reason to make a difference if he wins.

Why Mr Gay World?: Wants to break the stereotypes in the community. He says we are professionals, workers, entrepreneurs. we are sons, brothers, cousins, and above all are people with the same rights and obligations as any other person in the world.

Thoughts: A huge advocate for free and equal rights, I think winning the title would make the most difference to this guy’s life. Whether he has the ability to express that to the judges will soon be known.

Why Mr Gay World?: Matt says he has a strong belief in the concept of treating others the way you want to be treated and will never judge a book by its cover and intends on continuing his work with the LGBT community groups whether he wins Mr Gay World or not.

Thoughts: Has everything going for him apart from the fact that New Zealand has won the Mr Gay World title twice in six years. If the judges can over-look that then our home grown boy might be heading home with the title.

Why Mr Gay World?: He wants to use the Mr Gay World competition to raise awareness and teach the youth of today to embrace and accept themselves as individuals regardless of their sexual preferences.

Thoughts: The oldest in the competition but one of the most determined and competitive. Has a real shot at the title.

Profession: NGO worker with Aids and Ebola.
Why Mr Gay World?: He says he started as a broken soul and the people around him helped him through. He now wants to help others walk the journey he has been on, not as a politician but as a role model, a servant and a friend.

Thoughts: An emotional story from the local hope and looks to be a genuine guy who really wants to repay the faith people have put in him. Similar to Mr Gay New Zealand, will find it tough to win given South Africa have won twice in six years.

Why Mr Gay World?: He wants to do more for the LGBT community and believes we should all denounce other countries that don’t allow homosexuality.

Thoughts: Ticks all the boxes in terms of looks, social media and thoughts about helping the community but maybe his English skills will let him down given his video is in Spanish only. Has to be a contender.

Why Mr Gay World?: Anton wants to learn from entering the competition and then use that to help others across the globe. He would like to spread equality everywhere.

Thoughts: One of the younger competitors and looks very innocent at first glance. His video was one of the best and spelled out exactly what a Mr Gay World should do. Will start slow but could be in the running come the finale.

Why Mr Gay World?: He said that winning Mr Gay World would be a dream to represent a country globally and then get to know different places and cultures related to LGBT world.

Thoughts: Hard to compare his ideals for the title given he didn’t list much and had no English in his video. Another model and another delegate representing a different country from where they live. Can’t consider.

Why Mr Gay World?: Will use his title to start a conversation about homophobia in Zambia and show Zambia to the world which he thinks will improve the debate in his country.

Thoughts: Coming from a very tough part of the world, every bit of this competition will be good for the cause in Zambia and hopefully help him make change. Will have an impact on his fellow delegates. Is in with a slight chance.
