Roger Gosalbez from Spain was named Mr Gay World 2016 on Sunday after a week-long activity and judging process in Malta.

Following the event and before the contestants headed off back to 22 countries across the globe, New Zealand’s very own Bernard Lee caught up with the winner Roger to ask how he felt after winning the crown.

“I’m such an emotional guy,” said Gosalbez to Bernie.

“I had that strong feeling you were going to be the winner,” said Bernie.

“When you get home what is the first thing you are going to do.”

Roger continued,”I’m going to return to my regular life, my work and I want to start to speaking and talking with the company, Mr Gay World and Mr Gay Spain about the project.”

Gosalbez holds a degree in Communication he’s a graphic designer and has a career in the world of communication and marketing.

Mr Gay World wants to use his title to make LGBTI issues a spotlight in 2016.

And Bernie also ask’s Roger the big question…..Is he single?
