The impact of body image and social media on members of the LGBTQI community will head a wide-ranging discussion at the In It Together forum in Melbourne on October 10.

Devised and conducted by Mr Gay Pride Australia 2019 Rad Mitic, this will be the second forum he has conducted after a similar event held last year.

Headlining the panel will be Senior Policy & Strategic Manager from Drummond Street’s Queerpace Gabriel Alexanders and Counsellor & Diversity and Inclusion Project Coordinator at Mind Australia Limited Lena Risteski.

The forum will be moderated by Joy FM and Melbourne LGBTQI identity Dean Arcuri.

Speaking with Gay Nation, Rad Mitic said more panel members will be announced as the event gets closer.

“In It Together is about facilitating a conversation on important issues crippling our LGBTQI community.,” said Mitic.

“We share our ideas and experiences and ask the hard questions about how we can move forward and make change in our community.

“We will have a very diverse panel that will be talking about body image and social media, both issues that have had a huge impact on our community and our mental health.”

“We have received amazing support so far from Stonnington Council and anyone who wishes to take part as a supporter or a panel member then feel free to get in touch.”

In It Together will be held on Thursday 10 October between 6pm and 8pm and is free to attend although if you wish to make a donation then all proceeds will be donated to Headspace. Register to attend here.
