Park your zimmer-frame, hoist up your knickers, and get ready for a night of laughs with Nanna Bingo! From the New Zealand born, and Perth-based local performer Stuart Hayward, comes another of his colour characters: Nanna!
Many may remember Stuart Hayward from his gender-bending, cabaret hostess (with the moistest), Sam Madame – bring glam, glitz, and gams to the stage. Hayward may have semi-retired the fishnets for stockings, but with Nanna Bingo comes a sense of nostalgia wrapped up in the dirtiest of minds.
Performing to many sold-out shows, Nanna Bingo is racking up the Perth Fringe votes and emojis – from “Greatest of All Time”, “Laughed So Hard I Cried”, to “Recycle That!”
With a soft launch in 2023, “Nanna Bingo is full of nostalgic hot takes, peppered with witty one-liners, and long-form set-ups that really pack a punch”. Keeping up with Nanna is a performance in and of itself – with crowd interaction, intelligent and fast-paced ad-lib, the performance brings variety to the recycled format – featuring DJ sets, costumes encouraged by attendees, rave lighting, and a barrel of (cigarette a day) cackles – Nanna is reminiscent of many 90s golden girls, like Yeta (The Nanny), and Patsy Stone (Absolutely Fabulous).
Famed for being a culminated comedy show, disco, and 30-years’ worth of nicotine patches; Nanna Bingo is an interactive performance that blends the lines between a trivia night and a rave.
