The former police officer who has been charged with two counts of DV-related murder and one count of break and enter over the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies is now one step closer to facing justice.
In a hearing today at Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, Lawyers acting for Mr Lamarre-Condon said after a court conference with prosecutors the accused was very close to entering a plea.
Lamarre-Condon is accused of breaking into the home of his former partner Jesse Baird in Paddington and shooting both Baird and Davies with his police service gun on February 19.
The alarm was raised after the belongings of the men and blood stains were found in a skip bin near Cronulla in Sydney’s south.
Speaking to magistrate Theo Tsavdaridis, his solicitor John Walford said he was in the “last throes” of finalising instructions for a plea.
Asked by the magistrate if it would be committed for trial or sentence, Mr Walford said it would be for “committal” and did not elaborate.
The court was told the matter would be committed when Mr Lamarre-Condon next appeared in court in November.
The accused was not required in court today but his case will return on November 5.
