Gay adult performer Ty Roderick has been hospitalised after being stabbed multiple times in what his family has described as a sudden and violent attack.

A GoFundMe page set up to support his recovery says Roderick was “stabbed from behind multiple times” and suffered a collapsed lung.

“He is now in the hospital receiving critical medical care,” a statement from his mother says. “By the grace of God, he is still alive, but his injuries are severe, and the road ahead will be long, painful, and uncertain.”

The fundraiser describes the attack as devastating not only physically, but financially, leaving Roderick and his family facing mounting medical bills, lost income and the cost of ongoing treatment.

As of Thursday 16 April, just over US$1,000 had been raised towards a goal of US$6,000.

Roderick has also shared images of his injuries on social media, posting photos that show a bloodied face and multiple bandaged wounds.

In one post, he responded to scepticism about what had happened.

“Guess people think I’m lying. Well I’m not — each of those patches are where I was stabbed,” he wrote. “Twice in the face and I have a tube in my lung keeping it inflated.”

He also spoke candidly about how frightened he feels in the aftermath of the attack.

“You all know me for being strong… but right now I’m scared,” he wrote. “I hate asking, but I truly need help.”

Roderick has not publicly shared details about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing and has not identified a suspect. He also declined to comment further when approached by an adult industry news outlet.

In a later update, he thanked supporters for their messages and financial help, saying the response had brought some comfort during an extremely difficult time.

“I’m really overwhelmed and grateful for you all… it’s making me feel better about everything knowing so many of you support and care about me.”
