Known for her witty and biting one-liners, the Sex in the City Gay Eikon Kristin Davis is headed down under in February as one of the keynote speakers at the 2016 Mardi Gras conference called Queer Thinking.
Davis more commonly known as Charlotte from the HBO series Sex in the City is also a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) High Profile Supporter and has just returned back from a mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
She will be joined by Naomi Steer, National Director of Australia for UNHCR on Friday 12 Feb to discuss UNHCR’s work preventing and responding to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
In light of the high levels of SGBV in conflict settings worldwide and the growing number of asylum claims based on gender or sexual orientation, the event is presented as an urgent conversation on prevention and response.
