Annually Eikon looks back at the year to find out who made the biggest impact on our readers.

We call it Eikon’s 12 Gays of Christmas, where we find 12 newsmakers that have played a big part in our world across 2017.

Today, we begin with an inspirational leader and a man that was recognised this year with one of New Zealand’s greatest leadership awards.

Aaron came out as gay to his family and friends in his mid-twenties and today sees himself as a leader, who also happens to be gay.

For the readers of Eikon, he happens to be one of their favourites and we will always look forward to the next exciting project Aaron has on his radar.
