Start your engines ladies… RuPaul has landed in Auckland, New Zealand to start 14 days of quarantine at a local hotel before the beginning of filming for Drag Race Australia.

Local media outlet express is reporting that the World’s Most Famous Drag Queen checked into a plush quarantine hotel this morning in preparation for filming the ‘Down Under’ edition of the Drag Race franchise.

As previously reported, in late December the official Drag Race Australia Instagram account posted a message stating that filming would begin in New Zealand’s biggest city around January 29th with competitors and the host needing to arrive at least two weeks earlier to quarantine due to the country’s Covid-19 border controls.

Sources suggest a number of Australian drag talents have already flown in to compete on the show which will include ten Aussies and two Kiwis.

It is expected the series will be a boom for local drag queens which could include potential cast members such as Sydney’s Vanity Faire, Felicia Foxx, Coco Jumbo and Etc Etc, Brisbane’s Scarlett Fever and Sellma Soul, Newcastle’s Jojo Zaho and Melbourne’s Karen from Finance, Sabrina and Art Simone.

RuPaul appeared in an interview on Late Night TV in the US tonight with tips on how we can still be glamorous during a pandemic.

Although RuPaul suggests the interview is being conducted in California, the dark curtains in the shot could’ve been hiding the large windows that overlook Auckland Harbour.
