New Zealand Fashion retail giant Glassons has given fashion design students from Otago Polytechnic a valuable helping hand up to the next level.

The objective of the partnership is to give students the opportunity to submit their designs, and gain commercial feedback from industry experts.

The partnership provides a gateway for new and emerging Kiwi designers to have their voices heard on the growing local fashion stage.

Sebastian Cole the General manager of Glassons, said he is an honoured to be able to work with such passionate and creative people.

“The level of design and commitment at Otago Polytechnic is extremely refreshing,” Mr Cole said.

“It gives me great hope for the future of New Zealand fashion.”

The students participating in the partnership presented their designs to be critiqued by Cole and Glasson’s design manager Kiriana Pettersen.

The duo were extremely impressed by the level of work, so impressed in fact that they awarded two potentially life-changing opportunities to standout submissions.

Kenya Quin’s earned a one-month internship with Glassons for her fashionable yet commercially transferable aesthetic.

Fellow student Sophie Ball’s impressive theme and infectious personality has been given the opportunity to lead a Glassons Snapchat takeover campaign.

In conjunction with the two acknowledgements one piece from each of the participating student’s submission will be styled by Pettersen in an online lookbook, which will be published on Glassons.com
