Fresh off his recent success at the 2015 World Rowing Championship in France, openly gay Olympian from New Zealand, Robbie Manson speaks with Eikon about his life so far and what makes him tick.

2Q – There’s been a lot of talk about homophobia in sport; do you think it is still a problem? What are some of the things we could do to improve the situation?

A – I think it’s becoming less and less of an issue. I think if you are gay it’s important to come out and be yourself. Not only because you will be happier but it also helps to normalise being gay in sport.
